Moorea Tahiti
In 2015 Carl was flown to Tahiti by Claud Akers to design a permaculture property on the Island of Moorea. Carl spent 6 days in Tahiti visiting local permaculture farms and surveying Clauds one hectare property. The resultant design includes a strategy for managing water flow / mitigating flood risk during the rainy season, extensive vegetable gardens, papaya terraces, flower gardens, courtyards and an integrated chook run. It was a great experience and one that gave Carl an understanding of food growing in the tropics with the rapid plant growth and turnover of organic matter that occurs there.
